Description
The Acerians are a horned species that are native to Mars. These mortals dye their hair red and live in a red forest called the Everred Forest. All Acerians have two horns on their head that can form in various shapes. They also have the same face marking on their faces in a lighter brown color.
Acerians typically follow a more conservative culture in their home forest. Though the Everred Forest is a middle-class region that is also pretty well educated, most Acerians living in this region are not very open minded. In Acerian culture, family and passing on tradition are a huge factor in daily life. So naturally, old beliefs are carried on throughout generations.
The children in families are often expected to do well in school and respect their elders. Because of the Acerians' pride in passing on knowledge, most teenagers are required to go to secondary school unlike the most of Iaia. To them, by doing well in school, you respect what your parents have given you.
Abilities
- Acerians have no magical abilities and cannot cast spells
- Despite having no magic, Acerians do seem to have an improved ability to take care of plants for reasons unknown
- Like most other Martians, many Acerians tend to have an affinity for creatures.
History
Acerians began existing as a species tens of thousands of years after intelligent life had begun to exist in Iaia. After the first Acerians, their people began to believe that earlier existing species were not as capable of intelligent thoughts as they were. This notion became commonly held among the newer species of Iaia. Earlier species would be assumed to be not smart and primal, and thus would be unable to safely use any abilities they had. These beliefs, along with many other conservative beliefs are deeply rooted within the Acerian culture.
Of course, not every Acerian follows these views, but the majority of them who live in the Everred Forest do. In more recent years, these beliefs have become much less strong in Iaia, even within the Acerian community. However, it is still evidently an issue they have. Not every newer culture adopted these harsh views, though there is a noticeable amount of them who do.
When the Acerians first formed as a species, they would dye their hair completely red as a symbol of gratitude for the massive trees around them. Nowadays, not every Acerian dyes their hair completely red. But all of those who have lived in the Everred Forest do have at least some red in their hair.

- Acerians used to be dryads, though it was changed to be an original species unique to Pseudocide
- There also used to be a blue variant of the Acerians, though I eventually moved on from the idea after a while. Who knows, it could come back
