Description

Rinna, or Marina, is a prankster of sorts. She likes to take on any challenge recklessly. Sure, she may be a Siren, but we left the violent siren stereotype in the past. Many of Rinna's days are spent carefree and being a menace.

Personality

Though Rinna may come off very brash at first, she does have well intentions. She is very blunt and confident, and her lack of filter scares people off from time to time. Despite Rinna's assertive behavior coming off as rash, she sometimes uses aggression as a form of affection. Such as hitting someone lightly out of content or jabbing them jokingly. Rinna doesn't really see these kinds of actions as provoking, even if it reads that way to others.

Behind her inditimating Siren appearance, Rinna is actually a very friendly individual, in her own way. She enjoys being around most types people, and is pretty open about liking being around someone. Rinna will empathize with just about anyone, as long as they're on her good side. However, if someone isn't on her good side, she'll be completely dismissive and aggressive towards them. Rinna doesn't like making enemies, but it takes a while for her to forgive someone who has wronged her.

Additionally, Rinna is a very carefree individual. She acts reckless even in dangerous situations, and isn't used to actually being the one in danger. Rinna also tends to take things at face value, mostly as a comedic gag. As a jokester, Rinna loves to goof off and not take things seriously. However, Rinna can also be negligent towards established rules out of spite. She'll be mischievous and break rules in order to have some fun. Rinna runs into danger head-on, without much concern for any damage it will cause.

Despite Rinna's confidence, she is very sensitive towards her identity as a Siren. Due to the Siren's long and drawn out stereotype of being rash beasts who eat other people, Rinna hates when anyone brings up the negative portrayals of Sirens. She becomes quite aggravated when such stories are brought up because of that insecurity. As a shapeshifter, certain groups of people (cough cough Carmine) are against her because shapeshifting powers could potentially be misused, which is also another sensitive point for Rinna.

Background

Rinna previously lived in the underwater cities of Uranus, with other sirens. That was until her mom was stationed as a soldier, under the Heavens Committee in Ice Burg, bringing Rinna along with her.

Relationships

Tammy
Immediately when Rinna and Tammy met, Tammy admired the punk aesthetic Rinna had going on. Even though Rinna's status as a Siren is looked down upon by certain cultures, Tammy sees Rinna's abilities as badass. Due to this unusual response Rinna received, Rinna enthusiastically exclaims that Tammy is the least afraid human she's ever met. Since Rinna is not used to that kind of positive feedback about her siren heritage, she encourages Tammy to keep saying compliments about her.

Rinna is much more reckless with her plans (if any), whereas Tammy is much more of a strategist. This can cause arguments between them because of how devoted Tammy is to her plans. Though, Rinna does dial back on her recklessness if Tammy's plans are that important to her. Tammy looks out for Rinna, like she does for all of her friends. However, Tammy does fail to consider Rinna's uncomfortable feelings about being around Carmine because she also considers Carmine a close friend. Rinna does not hold this against her because she knows Tammy is just doing it out of the kindness of her heart.

Bix

Carmine
Even though Carmine holds more of a grudge towards Bix, Carmine is also bigoted towards Rinna. Both Sirens and Elementals fall under Acerians in the social hierarchy that some conservative cultures follow, which come with some stereotypes about them being beastly creatures because they appeared in Iaia long before Acerians. Occasionally Carmine will make up reasons to villainize Rinna and Bix, such as that those two will only use their shapeshifting abilities to impersonate others (though it should be noted that shapeshifters generally are considered neutral).

When Carmine and Rinna first met, he refused to let Rinna make any first impressions and already decided how he felt about her. Because of this, Rinna doesn't see Carmine as one of her friends even though he's usually around their friend group. Rinna also refuses to change her opinion on Carmine because of how Carmine views her. She will act aggressive towards Carmine and not take him seriously at all. Likewise, Carmine is dismissive of any of Rinna's emotions.

Carmine holds more of a grudge towards Bix than Rinna because Rinna is taller and stronger than he is.
