What is Pseudocide?
"pseudocide; noun; the act of faking one’s own death"
Pseudocide is a work-in-progress story following Tammy Duong, who is so unsatisfied with her life that she fakes her death to escape to start anew.
Through a series of carefully planned events, Tammy ends up going from her home planet of Earth to the distant Neptune.
Finally free from her shackles, she can pursue her life-long dream of ascending to godhood!
The solar system of Iaia (ee-uh ee-uh), which is much similar to ours, runs with a god pantheon running the system. Annual competitions called the God Games are held throughout the solar system for mortals to have the chance of taking another god's spot in the pantheon. Since Tammy was a wee youngin, she has had a fantasy in her head of becoming one of these gods who runs the world.
By summoning the God of Fireworks with an ancient ritual, Tammy ends up following them into a portal network that takes her to the frozen Neptune, instead of the hotshot Mercury. The portal Tammy entered landed her in a tundra, where she luckily meets two people named Benzaiten and Bix before freezing to death. Just outside the tundra is the city of Ice Burg, where Tammy's new home away from home will be while she stays with Benzaiten and Bix!
Why make this project?
The reason I made this story is kind of stupid because I care about it so much. In 7th grade, I saw people making worlds for their ocs, so naturally I wanted to make one too for my few ocs.
I threw together 3 ocs into some weird field setting and called it a night. But I've been working on these ocs ever since that day, and they never leave me alone since (not that I mind).
I personally believe storytelling is a great way to process emotions by seeing other characters go through things you go through. Not everything in Pseudocide is something I've gone through, but a good amount of these characters and stories are based on particular aspects of myself.
Important Notice
Though I have been working on this project for a long time, it is HEAVILY unfinished. Please keep in mind that any parts of the Pseudocide could change as I'm still in the learning process. The best way to describe the project right now is that its in a conceptual stage. Pseudocide will likely not be anywhere near done for at least 6 years, but even that is being generous. However, I am constantly working on it. Every. Single. Day. I still need to obtain a lot of skills in order for any of this to be possible, but I am willing to put in all the effort to learn the required skills.
